PENSACOLA, FL – ITGulfCoast, an Information Technology Association for the Gulf Coast, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at PJC Downtown. John Edwards, the training manager for Knowledge Matters LLC and a consultant for Networks of Florida will be speaking on the new features of Server 2008 to include changes in the certifications that are available.
Presentation Abstract
Server 2008 is the new kid on the block and companies are starting to adopt this version of Windows server. Understanding these new features of this operation system is paramount for the IT professional. There are many things that are different with Server 2008, including the certifications. That’s right, no more MCSE! So, John will also discuss the topic of certifications for Server 2008. As an added bonus John will also discuss the subject of certification as it relates to the DoD instruction 8570. The DoD 8570 instruction governs the certifications required to work on any DoD system with “Privileged Access”. The significance of understanding how these certifications can affect you as either an IT professional seeking employment with the DoD or as a company trying to compete for a DoD IT contract is a must. Meeting Details
This meeting will be held at PJC Downtown . The meeting starts at 11:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm. The cost for lunch is $12 per person. Cold box lunches will be provided. The fee to attend without lunch is $5 per person.
